Some of the books I share are affiliate links. If you buy a book through this link, it doesn't cost you anything extra but I get a small incentive by sharing it with you.
Regardless of whether the books contain an affiliate link or not, I personally love each of these books. So I use them regularly in my work with clients.
In a time when everyone is shouting at each other and opinions are quickly given the same value as facts, the connection is often hard to find. We try to convince the other person that we are right, rather than working together to find real answers. As a result, many of our conversations are more like debates than dialogues. We'd rather talk than listen; we don't have time to ask questions. And admitting that we don't know something is not an option at all. How beautiful would it be if, at any moment and in any situation, you knew how to ask exactly the question that leads to a good conversation?

“Most people overestimate what they can do in a day, and underestimate what they can do in a month. We overestimate what we can do in a year, and underestimate what we can accomplish in a decade.” This quote has been attributed to everyone from Marcus Aurelius to Bill Gates and Anthony Robbins.

Athletes do it too, who visualize what their goals are. Those see it in front of them. Who start with the end in mind. And step by step they reason back, how hard to push off, where to hold back, how to manage their energy and more importantly how to get their mindset in the right position. This mindset you can train and it helps you:

Small changes, big results. Improving your life is much easier than you think. Whether you want to lose weight, sleep more or work on your work-life balance: the secret is to start small. Focus not on that one difficult thing, but on what you can easily change; focus on what you want to do, not on what you have to do.

It takes more to reach your full potential as a leader and as a human being. You achieve that by making the mind and body work together. Recent research from neuroscience and psychology shows that how we sit and stand affects the way we think, feel and speak. If the body has such an influence on how we function, we can also consciously use it to achieve more with greater ease.
In The Hidden Dimension of Leadership, you will follow the path of the gentle warrior. This method is rooted in mindfulness, Eastern martial arts, leadership embodiment and techniques from elite sports. The practical and powerful exercises align body and mind and help you function optimally, even in challenging situations. For example, you will learn how to recover from stress to flow within seconds in the here and now.

Waking The Tiger offers a new and hopeful vision of trauma. It considers the human animal as a unique being, inherently instinctive. It asks and answers an intriguing question: why are wildlife, though routinely threatened, rarely traumatized? Understanding the dynamics that make wild animals virtually immune to traumatic symptoms reveals the mystery of human trauma.
Waking The Tiger Normalizes the symptoms of trauma and the steps needed to heal them. People are often traumatized by seemingly ordinary experiences. The reader is taken on a tour of the subtle but powerful impulses that shape our reactions to overwhelming life events. To do this, the book uses a series of exercises that help us focus on bodily sensations. Through increased awareness of these sensations, trauma can be healed.
